About Us
Storm players
We are looking forward to another Rio Storm hoops camp this year! With approximately 40 boys and girls basketball players in the Storm program last season, excitement levels are high to play basketball again! And it shows as we currently expect to have 40-50 players in the program for our Spring camp!
Looking forward, with the influx of new boys and girls players this season, we plan on resuming our fundamentals-based approach during our practice sessions and have intrasquad games provided we have enough boys/girls at the respective age and gender levels.
Our tots did tremendous in their last full season, with some of them able to dribble two balls at once, and some of them making shots on the regulation, 10' baskets by the end of the Storm season. Along with our 8-12 year-old boys and girls, they represent the next generation of Storm players!

Our mission includes teaching the youths of Rio Vista the fundamentals of basketball and with that, build in them an appreciation and love of the game. The Storm program is reserved exclusively for kids with direct Rio Vista ties and/or students of the RDUSD.
Due to our policy of inclusion, we work with local organizations and individuals to raise money, enabling the Storm program to bring sports and hope to under-served children in our hometown. Our coaching and teaching doesn't stop at the boundaries of the basketball court.

Olivia Harding - Olivia is a first-time Storm player and is doing great. She is dribbling and ballhandling very well and her positive attitude radiates to the other Storm

Patrick Evans - Patrick is another first-time Storm player. He is juggling baseball and basketball right now and is excelling at both. Patrick ended one of our practices last week by swishing a free throw, showing off his shooting skills. He can also shoot the three!
John Roberts - John is another player juggling both baseball and basketball and is also thriving in each sport. He is helping lead the Storm practices with his athleticism and enthusiasm. Tremendous effort!
